Maury Morneault is the owner and artisan of MJM Woodworks. At an early age, he received an introduction into the world of woodworking through his father and grandfather. Through his mentors, Maury was thrilled to learn that a piece of wood could be turned into something beautiful and amazing. His earliest solo projects included a toy box and gun rack.
As the years went on, Maury's love for woodworking grew, as did his level of detail and quality of work. His only problem has never having enough time to devote to his craft.
Maury spent his early professional career in various forms of engineering. Over the span of 25 years, Maury has become proficient in many disciplines such as; mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, process engineering, design engineering and project management. Although, Maury excelled at making a living in the engineering profession, he always felt a need to pursue his true dream to become a professional woodworker. In 2006, with the love and support of his family, he decided it was time to strike out on his own and turn his dream into a reality.
Today, Maury can be found most any day (or night) working in his shop creating custom pieces. When not actually working with wood, Maury can be found in front of the TV, surfing the Internet, or behind a book learning more about his craft. When it's time to relax, Maury enjoys playing the drums or touring around the country on one of his motorcycles.
Maury’s engineering background allows him to design custom one of kind pieces. And his woodworking expertise allows the artisan to make that design a reality...creating furniture that will last for generations. Please visit the Gallery for more examples of Maury’s work. Feel free to contact him should you have any questions or have a project you would like MJM Woodworks to quote for you.
